STORIES TO TELL.

Picture

My name is Miranda Ferrante and I am a journalist and editor based in Westchester County, New York.

Journalist with a strong focus on community reporting and local news — telling the stories that shape neighborhoods, inform residents, and hold local leaders accountable. I am the sole full-time reporter for Yorktown News, covering the Town Board and community affairs for the hyperlocal newspaper published by Halston Media. I report on town government, policy, local events, and the issues impacting the nearly 40,000 residents who call Yorktown home.

My work spans digital and print platforms, with bylines in The Chief, 914INC., Long Island Press, Dan’s Papers, Salon, Business Insider, Westchester Magazine, Elon News Network, and others. I bring a well-rounded skill set that includes breaking news reporting, magazine writing, social media strategy, and graphic design.

I earned my master’s degree in December 2024 from New York University’s Magazine and Digital Storytelling program. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University’s School of Communications in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication Design, along with a minor in dance.
